Off-Campus Studies

From the International & Off Campus Studies Office:

Third Annual Off-Campus Studies Returnee Conference (April 18-19).

All Cornell students, faculty, and staff are welcome! Come discover more about studying off-campus in Chicago, other parts of the United States, and all over the world. The conference kicks off at lunchtime, with the chance for Cornellians to meet students who have studied abroad all over the world and the United States. Come visit with them and see their amazing photos on the OC. (And start dreaming about or planning your next trip or study-abroad experience.)

Schedule of events:

DAY 1: Monday, April 18

Off-Campus Studies Fair

11 AM – 12:45 PM

Student-led sessions on the Orange Carpet, where you can chat with students who studied abroad for a block, summer, or a semester and see their photos.

Study Abroad Panel Discussion

5:15 PM – 6:15 PM

 Bring your dinner to Smith Dining Hall  to listen to panel discussions, including students who studied in Turkey, Bolivia, Sweden, and other amazing places.

DAY 2: Tuesday, April 19

 “Marketing Your Experience Abroad & A Glimpse at Future Opportunities Abroad”

11:15 AM – 12 PM

A talk from Jason Napoli (Career and Civic Engagement Office) in Hedges Conference Room (Thomas Commons).

Off-Campus Studies Returnee Reunion Dinner

All students who studied or did internships abroad or off-campus for a block, a summer, or a semester are invited to celebrate together. This includes students in Cornell professor-led courses during the 2015-16 academic year and students who participated in non-Cornell programs abroad and off-campus for the past several years.

Getting Involved

“What are you involved in?” For a Cornellian, that may be the scariest question out there. Guest Blogger Jordan Wolfe, ’17, a PA with NSO2015 talks about getting involved on campus and balancing activities. As one of Cornell’s NCAA III athletes, Jordan is well practiced in balancing athletics and the rigorous academics of Cornell. 

At Cornell, getting involved is extremely easy to do, with something new available for you wherever you look.  With 15 active Greek organizations, 19 NCAA Division III sports teams, and over 50 student organizations on campus, that makes for nearly 100 choices of groups to be a part of on the hilltop.
