Farewell!
By Nick Light | February 25, 2010
The 2009-2010 Executive Council would like to thank all Cornell students for giving us the opportunity to represent you and to serve as the link between the students and the faculty/administration. We have worked hard to make Student Senate more transparent, more efficient, and more conducive to the needs of the students. We look forward to helping the new Executive Council as they transition into their new positions, and we look forward to the positive improvements that they bring to Cornell.

Sodexo News!
By hblackwood11 | February 16, 2010
Hey everyone, some news here I think everyone can appreciate,
The Foodservice Advisory Committee (FSAC) has been working hard and talking with Sodexo to make things better for students, and we’ve made quite a few gains in just a few short weeks:
- I’m sure you’ve all noticed the fruit’s new home, in a nice wire stand at the center of the Scramble. Not only does the fruit look a bit more appetizing here than in a grubby plastic tub, but the new spot also cuts down on the number of people clogging up the exit.
- Not pleased with the quality of the cooked vegetables in three squares or the vegetarian section? Say goodbye to mushy green beans in the first week of March, when a new steamer will be installed upstairs!
- Getting tired of the coffee upstairs? Look forward to Aspretto, fresh-brewed, fair-trade, organic coffee from Sodexo replacing the coffee machine when we return from Spring Break.
- Had enough of the vanilla/chocolate soft serve ice cream? Next year Sodexo is going to switch from Anderson Erickson to Edy’s, which will mean not only more flavors of ice cream, but also some varieties of frozen yogurt as well!
We hope you’re as excited about some of this stuff as we are. Check back for more FSAC news.
-Harry

Green Fee Committee
By Nick Light | February 9, 2010
Recently, Student Senate created a Green Fee Ad Hoc Committee, designed to explore the feasibility and benefits that a green fee would have at Cornell. This committee was formed in response to a resolution brought before Senate by the Environmental Club (listed below). If you are interested in serving on this committee, please contact the chair, Tommy LeForce, for more information. In addition, if you have any comments or concerns, please feel free to contact your representatives on Senate. You can find your representatives here.

Ice Rink?
By hblackwood11 | January 31, 2010
So I’m sure a lot of you are wondering where that ice rink we were supposed to be getting in a few days ago is. I can’t say I blame you. We were told by Facilities Management that the rink would take 2 days to build, and that it would be built by the beginning of block break. Well here we are, almost at the end of break, and there’s no rink to be found. The story behind this is an unfortunate coincidence: the two top people at Facilities, Chris Guillion and Jeff Mick, have been out; one on vacation and the other due to medical problems. One of them will be back this week, however, and we’ve been told it’s the first thing on their list, so watch for an ice rink on campus soon!
Harry,
Student Life Chair
