Description: A legislative fellowship serving in all areas of the Congressman’s personal office. Responsibilities include: research, writing and editing responses to constituent letters and requests; attending hearings and briefings in specific legislative areas; carrying out projects in specific issue areas; and, performing a variety of administrative tasks including fielding calls from constituents and greeting visitors. Students will also be charged with writing a policy memo as part of the fellowship experience. Applicants must have an interest in government, and possess excellent writing and research skills. The Fellow must be willing to work at a variety of activities, and have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Applicants should be eager to learn more about the legislative process, and want to be part of a hardworking team, dedicated to serving the citizens of the 2nd District of Iowa.

Description: The Fellow will help coordinate/execute the next phases of the Global Zero student movement: a media/new media campaign, campus outreach, and campus events. A metrics-driven narrative presentation will be delivered to the staff of Global Zero at the end of the project. The presentation will document the number of media/new media placements generated, events executed, chapter growth fostered, etc. over the eight-week timeframe of the project.
Applicants should be highly motivated individuals who thrive in a fast paced and occasionally high-stress environment. Fellows will have a great deal of responsibility, and must be able to make executive decisions when necessary. Applicants should be friendly self-starters with lots of energy and professionalism, as interpersonal communication is paramount in fulfilling the mission of Global Zero. Must be a creative problem solver, with exceptional writing and organization skills.
